Python Developer/Software Engineer

£35,000 to £75,000

I’m working closely with a FTSE100 client, based in South London, that is looking to completely transform an area of its business.

This client has embarked on a 5-year transformation program to change into a technology provider from its traditional operations centre beginnings.

It will be building out a brand-new cloud-based distributed platform (AWS) that will have an interactive, app-based, customer front end that will be fully automated. Giving the customer access to all services provided by our client at the touch of a button.

As part of this greenfield implementation, it is looking to take on a number of software engineers and Python developers to help build out the platform.

You will be working in a completely agile environment and be part of a lean scrum team (no larger than 9 people).

Initially, you will look to replace the existing ageing infrastructure (moving to AWS) and then go on to product development.

This is a chance to get involved with a major digital transformation from the start and be a key member of the team as they progress through.

You must be at home in solving complex problems. We are looking for a range of capability, from grad to 10 years of experience. From a tech perspective, with the implementation, they are moving to Python and AWS from Java on-prem databases.

Therefore, experience with Python is absolutely essential. Moreover, you would have likely come from a more of a robust/enterprise engineering environment (i.e. highly-complex, highly-performant, multi-threaded, distributed platforms/systems) ideally utilising Java/JVM technology stacks. Don’t be put off if you lack Java. As I said, they are moving away from that so Python is by far the key skill.

Experience needed

•       Software Engineer Generalist

•       Python

•       Agile/Scrum exposure

•       Ideally worked in a digital environment

There is a load more tech our client is using but Python is the main one they are looking for. Without this, it’s a none starter.

The programme is due to officially start in January ‘19 and our client is looking for anyone who is available to start from October ‘18 onwards, finance has been secured and they are ready to go.

If this is an opportunity you would like to hear more about, please send a CV through.
