Product Owner – Finance Analytics

£65,000 - £75,000

Our client is going through a major financial data transformation, migrating all on-prem financial data to the cloud. The current data is stored in Oracle RDBMS and it is being moved to Oracle Fusion.

As the Finance Analytics Product Owner (Classic BA skillset) you will sit within the CDO’s office and be the data team’s representative on the transformation to make sure that the finance team are putting data at the heart of the transformation. The idea is that once the initial migration is done the data will then be ready for advanced analytics and data science. Therefore, the programme is in two phases; initial migration and preparing the data for…phase two; reporting and user case identification for data science and advanced analytics.

The challenge is that the finance team are fairly new to data science so preparing the data in a way that can be used to data scientists will be an educational journey.

We are looking for an all-round analytics consultant who has worked on an FS transformation of this type before (on-prem to the cloud). You would have dealt with tricky stakeholders and translated their requirements to technical teams. If you have come from a techie background yourself, then fantastic. Due to the nature of the role, it would lend itself to someone who is ex-consultancy who would like to move client side and has had enough of travelling and working all hours under the sun (and moon).

Within the role, you will work with the finance team to gather requirements of how they want the data to sit on the new platform, but you will also be educating them about analytics and the art of the possible. Because this is an Oracle migration, experience with Oracle Fusion would be ideal but if you have worked with another Finance and/or ERP system i.e. SAP, that would also be of interest. Cloud experience would be beneficial as well.

Finally, for the reporting element, data visualisation will be utilised. Therefore, experience with tools like Tableau or QlikView/Sense would also be of interest.

As a recap, we are looking for…

  • Analytics consultant
  • Finance data transformation experience
  • On-prem to cloud migration
  • Worked with FS and/or ERP system (Oracle is ideal).
  • Data Vis tools

The role comes with great benefits, a flexible salary of around £65 – 75k, 10% bonus and 9% pension.

I’ve got a full specification and much more detail I can go into on the client and role but if this has piqued your interest (and yes that is the right ‘piqued’ to use, I googled it!) please send me through CV [email protected]
and I’ll get back to you ASAP.
